Woodland Park house Rental Property Information

Here your vacation is easy to prepare for and fun for all. Most of your basic food staples are already in the kitchen and we've provided lots of family recreation. Provisions for the tiny tots: form-fitting tire swings, high chair, baby backpack, port-a-crib, safety gate... For the toddler: sandbox, huge playground... For the school-age: air hockey, foosball, ping pong, basketball, tether ball, soccer, tree house, badminton, snow sleds... For adults: spa, workout equipment, board games, hammocks, big picnic table, outdoor fire circle, hundreds of family-friendly videos, a treasure hunt to an old gold-mine cave, hunting on adjacent National Forest land (a million acres) All this in a beautifully decorated, environmentally friendly, solar heated home.

We are located at the base of Pikes Peak in scenic Ute Pass, 12 miles from Colorado Springs and 3 miles from Woodland Park shopping. A paved road connects us to Highway 24.

  • Each bedroom has a theme. There is the King's Crown room with a canopy king size bed and elegant decor. The big, open, cheerful Country Garden room has two canopy queen beds. Kids will love the twin beds inside the tent in the Mountain Adventure room. A natural, wildlife motif livens up the Wilderness Trail room with its twin beds. Grandma's Attic with two twin beds is a room to explore with dress up clothes in the old trunk. The upstairs balcony has a queen-size hide-a-bed. Guests often comment on how well they sleep. They enjoy the support of memory foam and the soft warmth of the puffy down comforters.

Our solar home gains heat from the sun in the winter, and is cooled naturally in the summer. We provide sweaters and jackets for those who forget how cool it is during the summer at our 8500 foot elevation. We provide such an extensive supply of food staples, that all you need to purchase upon arrival are your meat, produce and dairy. (We have all your spices, condiments, salad dressings, tea, coffee, flour, sugar, oils, vinegars, popcorn.....etc, etc.) . The large wooden playground will rival what you can find in a public park. The basketball court has two baskets and posts to set up nets for volleyball and badminton. There is also tether ball and a tree house. Evenings you can sit around the fire-circle. The property is 3 1/2 acres bordering thousands of acres of National Forest. Due to water shortages in our area, clothes need to be washed at the nearby laundromat during the busy season.

Clean air, brilliant sun In the summer the 8500 foot elevation means pleasant days and cool nights. Our expansive solar windows take advantage of the sun and clean mountain air. Through them you look on to your private yard. There is no central heating system, so on those occasional winter days when the sun is hidden, you set individual heaters in the rooms or better yet, your family will gather around your glowing fire in the wood stove. 'Roughing it' never felt so good.

Guest Book We have rented cabins in Colorado on three previous occasions. None compared to the quality of this home. We look forward to returning, and enjoying this cabin again. Scott Clary
