Truth or Consequences house Rental Property Information

This is a beautiful and unique retreat, with its own generous sized private mineral hot springs perched on the banks of the Rio Grande River surrounded by a Japanese style Ramada and extensive gardens. The home is located in the historic hot springs district of TrC, which has recently had much national media coverage due to its quirky retro atmosphere and the nearby future spaceport. Due to the unobstructed expansive views of diverse desert chaparral and the sacred Turtleback Mt., one gets the feeling of remoteness; however, within three blocks, one may discover art galleries, coffee shops, restaurants, local grocery, banks, antique, junk and book stores. While watching out the wall of windows in the Great Room, one can observe wildlife such as beavers, coyotes, raccoons, bobcat, and a never ending stream of migratory birds that use the Rio Grande as their super highway, while the Turtleback turns crimson in the late afternoon sun. Furnished with antiques, local art, and oriental rugs.

But if you like a unique place where residents willingly share their stories of how they landed here and why they stayed, you might end up writing a book. Unlike many places in the southwest with ideal climate (mild winters, cool summer nights) that attract only the wealthy, TrC has had a recent influx of 30-something couples that have traded their big city prof. lives for investing in start up retail businesses. TrC lies between NM largest lake, Elephant Butte and Caballo Lake on the Rio Grande River. This little town (8000 pop.) is an island surrounded by a sea of diverse high desert chaparral that gives way to rugged mt., the highest with lush alpine forests in every direction, for the seeker of soft adventure there is serious hiking, rewarding rockhounding, peaceful canoeing, challenging mt. biking, world class birding, trophy sport fishing, and endless road biking
