Alajuela cottage Rental Property Information

Casita Alta Vista is a cottage in the classic Latin style with white walls, red tile roof and terracotta tile floor. Plenty of ventilation with vented windows on all four sides and a vented atrium in the center. Large covered front porch with beautiful views. You don't need air conditioning because the weather in Atenas is always mild. National Geographic magazine claims Atenas has the best climate in the world! Large floor fan available. The cottage is at the top of a two-acre lot with fabulous views of the Central Valley, the volcanoes, and the mountains and valleys to the north as well. Landscaped with local flowers, fruit trees, and lawn. The cottage is small but fully appointed with all kitchen utensils, flatware, stainless steel cookware, automatic coffee maker, two small refrigerators, and four-burner electric stove with oven. Free cell phone available with refundable deposit. Bodega (small garage) with washing machine. State-of-the-art security system, wall and gate.

Atenas is at the west end of the Central Valley, and the cottage overlooks the entire valley, including the volcanoes Poas and Irazu. Atenas is a lovely town with a beautiful park in the center. Atenas is located about midway between San Jose and the pacific beaches. It is about 45 minutes drive to the center of San Jose and about an hour from the pacific coast. It is 20-25 minutes from the cottage to Juan Santamaria International Airport. Atenas is about 20-25 minutes from the Alajuela shopping mall, where there are a wide variety of retail shops, two movie theaters, a supermarket and a fast-food mall. In Grecia, a 15-minute drive from Atenas, is the snake zoo, which is famous for having all kinds of exotic reptiles.

Further Details for the cottage in Costa Rica, Central America

Kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets (photo included) and bedroom closet are all beautiful native cedar wood. Ceiling is laurel wood with beams of Guanacaste wood. These are native Costa Rican hardwoods. As a guest you will have complete use of two swimming pools--one large, one small--and a tennis court at the neighboring hotel 300 yards (270 meters) downhill via the concrete driveway. The hotel also has a nice restaurant, open some evenings in the high season; the cook is excellent and versatile.

Car also available for rent at the hotel. By car you are 5 minutes from downtown Atenas, which has just about anything you may need. Available there are: four supermarkets; several restaurants; four banks, 2 with ATM; 4 internet cafe's; hardware and appliance stores; video store, Spanish lessons; bus station with frequent, comfortable, inexpensive buses to San Jose, International Airport and other towns. In Atenas you are in a very good location for exploring all the nature parks of Costa Rica. You are midway between San Jose and the Pacific beaches--40 minutes from downtown San Jose and 1 hour from Herriadura Beach. You are also 15 minutes from the Pan American Highway, which connects all points in Costa Rica, plus Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south.
