Jacaranda House is a self catering holiday villa situated on a ridge adjoining a bird sanctuary with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea over it's own tiled 30ft pool with infinity edge, all of which gives it a great wow factor. Don't take our word - see below what the guests have said. Some of Tobago's best beaches are within 5 minutes drive as is the Mt Irvine championship golf course. The house is airy and spacious with high ceilings, cool floor tiles, wrap around veranda and folding louvre doors on three sides which let the prevailing breezes sweep through. A lovely honey coloured stone deck surrounds the pool on three sides and further grassed parts lead into shaded areas to provide a wide choice of sunning facilities. It is ideal for families with children, adults wanting to unwind and rest, newly weds want a romantic place and for the younger set it is an ideal base from which to go water skiing, windsurfing, scuba diving, riding, etc. in fact it is ideal for all.

Location Jacaranda House is ideally located in the south eastern end of Tobago, being within 20 minutes of the airport and Scarborough, the capital. Close by are the Mt Irvine championship golf course, PADI dive centres, sailing, deep sea fishing and 4 of the best beaches in Tobago. Shops, from supermarkets to stalls, are all nearby including fish from the sea every afternoon; further away are the Scarborough market, delicatessen and meat straight from the farm!

House Layout The upper floor of Jacaranda House is open plan with living, dining and kitchen areas all sharing the panoramic views on three sides, plus the master bedroom. Downstairs are two bedrooms with ensuite shower/bathrooms looking over the pool and the sea, and a fourth bedroom with a sofa bed opening onto the garden. In front is the pool with its vanshing edge and sun loungers, and a lawn area with table and chairs shaded under a bougainvillea roof. A further garden area with fruit trees is at the side.

Things to do The best beaches are on the Caribbean side and a few of the best are overlooked by Jacaranda House. Immediately below is Stonehaven or Grafton Beach and within 5 minutes drive are Turtle, Mt Irvine and Grange beaches. Pigeon Point, the quintessential Caribbean beach with those magical colours, is 20 minutes drive and Englishman's Bay, the beach with no buildings in sight, is 30 minutes drive. Good snorkelling can be had around the rocks of most beaches and Tobago has excellent scuba diving with several PADI approved dive schools – some of the best dives are at Speyside at the north end of the island. Tobago has the oldest national park in the World, centred on the rain forest down the middle of the island where you can get guides to take you on trails looking at the wonderful bird life. There are excellent windsurfing facilities at Pigeon Point with regular breezes all the time. There is horse riding and you can hire bicycles locally. There are plenty of restaurants nearby

Golf Information: The Mt Irvine golf course is a mature 6,793 yard, par 72 international championship course set in 127 acres of naturally terraced land dropping to the sea. The result is both a challenging and a scenic course. Considered by many as one of the finest courses in the Caribbean. The facilities are excellent and include buggies. Green fees: currently US$50 or US$300 for a week. More recently opend is the Tobago Plantations Golf and Country Club. This also is a par 72 international PGA designed course running to 7,009 yards and is located on the Atlantic side, near the Hilton Hotel, and has a good mix of links and parkland holes.
