Copacabana, Ipanema, the center of Rio and its international and domestic airports are all within a one hour drive from the property, and can be accessed by public transportation for less than $2 or by a private taxi for about $30 round trip. Car rentals in Brazil are much more expensive than in the USA, however it is more reasonable and convenient to utilize one of the many taxis willing to work at rates slightly higher than their fuel costs. Maricá is a very safe, relaxed and tranquil beach-town. Maricá is large enough to have all the things you will need from day to day, yet small enough to alleviate the headaches of city traffic and high tourist prices. Being only 45 minutes to one hour away from the heart of Rio, many honeymooners, business owners, politicians, and foreign retirees find Maricá the ideal place for a perfect get-away.

An excellent location for those looking for a quiet, safe and friendly refuge from the daily grind.
