Vero Beach is located midway between Ft Pierce to the south and Sebastian to the north at a latitude often referred to as the 'Top of the Tropics'. It is about 3 hours drive to Tampa roughly due west and 3 hours to the Everglades which lie to the south. Ft Lauderdale is about an hour and 45 minutes away to the south. An Orlando visit to its many attractions is an easy day trip about one and a half hours to the northwest.
