  • All bedrooms are furnished with Beauty rest pillow top mattresses (new 2006), reproduction beds, and antique dressers or armoires. There are 2 portacribs and 1 high chair. Some bedrooms have the original wide planked wood floors. The den connects the old and new wings of the home and can be closed off for complete privacy. The rear bedrooms can use a separate entrance, if desired. The first floor bedroom also has an optional separate entrance. The family room has two full sleeper sofas, wide screen TV, DVD, and stereo. The upstairs Den has a large TV with VHS and DVD. There is also a flat screen TV in the MBR. We have added shades to all the bedroom windows for extra privacy and light control. We have also replaced the family room carpeting.

Saugatuck is the perfect western Michigan town to visit any time of year. An artist's haven with lots of galleries and shops plus the requisite old fashioned drug store soda fountain, village green, and playground, it is both lively and laid-back. Stroll through the town and admire the historic homes. The Kalamazoo River and Lake Kalamazoo run through the town, providing a safe place to kayak, canoe, boat, sail, or jet ski. The famed Oval Beach on Lake Michigan is just a short ride by car or take the Chain Ferry across the river and hike over the dunes to the lake. The area offers plenty of antique shops, orchards, and two wineries. The town sponsors lots of activities throughout the year. The Saugatuck Dunes State Park is on the northern edge of the town and is a great place to hike, swim, and sun. Biking and cross country skiing are also popular. The city of Holland is just 12 miles where you'll find a large water fun park/aquatic center,theme park, and shopping.

Holland also boasts a Dutch Theme Village, plenty of shops, a world class museum, universities, and several cinemas. Back in Saugatuck, enjoy the local golf courses, orchards, dune rides, ship's museum, live theatre, workshops, and artistic activities of all sorts. If you need pampering, there are several day spas and salons to choose from. On rainy days, visit the SS Kewatin, a Victorian steam ship and museum or pay a visit to the Christian Science Reading Room, the Saugatuck museum, local bowing alleys, or just hang out at home reading or playing games inside or on the screened porch. Our home is kid friendly and we have a large selection of games, sports equipment, and books as well as two tv rooms.
