| Notes: | The lodge is an extremely unique property. Located off the electrical grid, the lodge makes it's own electricity via solar panels and wind turbines. Yet enjoy all the comforts of home, with a fully equipped kitchen, with all appliances, including a laundry room with washer and dryer. Although all furniture is new, the decor is rustic and warm, which is perfect to give you that inviting feeling. The great room boasts floor to ceiling windows, with views from almost every room in the house. About the Lodge The lodge is located 'off the electrical grid', exactly what does that mean for us as renters? The lodge makes it's own electricity via solar panels, and wind turbines. For the most part, these two avenues create enough electricity to run the lodge. However, during lengthy periods of overcast days and low wind times, the automatic propane generator would kick in to replenish power reserves. You will probably never know that this happened. You will have non interrupted electrical supply just like any other house. The Power Source is located in the rear of the lodge away from main outdoor areas. We have professional property managers who live close by in our neighboring town Hartsel. They are quite efficient and can answer all your questions, and will take care of any needs that may arise in a timely manner. The lodge has provided you with two animal proof outside garbage containers.
Frequently Asked Questions **What type of pet facility do you have? Located in the rear of the lodge is a huge dog kennel, suitable for larger dogs. We highly recommend you do not bring small pets and leave them unattended outside. There is abundant wildlife in the area, including coyotes, and the safety of your pet is an issue. The dog kennel is not suitable for small dogs. **Where can we rent a boat or boat slip, or hire a guide for trolling on the lake? 11 Mile Marina. The marina offers boat rental, boat slips, complete outfitting and professional guide services. 11 Mile Sports and Marina is located just opposite the ranger station for Eleven Mile State Park, approximately six minutes from the lodge. **Where can we fly fish? Directly in front of the lodge is an access to the South Platte River, also known as the Dream Stream. This part of the the river is designated Gold Medal Waters. Huge trout are caught on the Dream Stream year round. As we are dog lovers, your pet is allowed inside.
Skiing Information: Both Copper Mountain and Breckenridge is located within an hours driving distance from the lodge.
Golf Information: There is a public golf course located a 30 minute drive in the city of Woodland Park.
Guest Book 'Driving up to Thunder Road, all we could say was, Wow! Then driving down the driveway, it was, Wow, Wow!! Then entering the lodge itself, was Wow, Wow, Wow!!! Needless to say, we were very impressed with the views of the continental divide, the lake and the interior of the property was just so warm and inviting. We had a great time and wanted for nothing. Thank you for making our small family reunion one of the best.' Jim, Lynn and kids, Los Angles, CA, Toni and Laura, Alberto, Canada and John and kids, Dallas Texas 'Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. As I love to cook, the kitchen was fantastic, and had everything I needed. Cocktail hour on the deck was to die for, just watching the sunsets, with the cool breeze after a day of 100+ temps in the city. Like your other guests, we wanted for nothing.......stars were awesome too!' TM
