  • Twenty-five percent secures your rental dates. The other 75% would be due one month before your stay begins. Rates fluctuate with the daily euro/dollar exchange rate until paid. The security deposit ($200) should be sent in a separate check so that we could send it back uncashed if there is no loss, damage, or phone usage beyond that explained below.
    For booking, along with the rental deposit we ask for name, address, phone, and e-mail of all in your party. Our cancellation policy: we will refund any amount received from you only if we are able to rebook for the period reserved by you. No refunds are made after the beginning of the rental period.

The gourmet kitchen is well-equipped with all utensils, cuisinart, herb chopper, mixer, kettle, plus dishwasher, washing machine, electric tumble dryer, microwave, convection and conventional oven. Fridge has a special shelf for wine bottles (oh those French!!) and a large freezer. The TV set in the living room is connected to the satellite receiving CNN, Sky, and BBC news in English. The DVD player has several English-language movies, many suitable for children. If you have a wi-fi enabled laptop, you can enjoy our DSL high-speed internet service, provided free of charge. There is a several-year-old HP laptop you may use, also. We provide free phone calls to fixed lines inside France, to the continental USA, Canada, Australia, and parts of Asia. We also provide central heating and cooling for year-round comfort.

What to do in the area Besides the well-documented cultural outings (castles, many with sound and light shows, of Amboise, Chenonceau, Chambord, Blois, Chaumont, Azay-le-Rideau, Ussé, Villandry, to name a few; Leonardo da Vinci’s home in Amboise; numerous museums, monuments, and open-air markets in Tours), there are many recreational attractions as well: the aquarium, the mini-chateaux, Fantasy Forest (a children’s amusement park), kayaking, hiking, biking, golf, tennis, and swimming within fifteen minutes of the house, Dining out becomes a fine art with many nearby restaurants in all price ranges, from the deliciously simple to the gastronomical splurge. For the shoppers, there are many gift and specialty shops in town and large department stores in Tours, plus regular flea markets and special town fairs with their parades, medieval jousts, or vide-grenier (village-wide flea markets) in Spring and Summer.

What to do at 'Le Clos' Outside, we have planted the garden with roses, fruit trees, herbs, flowering shrubs and annuals. Depending on the time of year, you can help yourself to cherries, plums, grapes, apples or figs. We love to relax under the rose arbor while enjoying some of the local specialties which abound here in the “Garden of France.” It's a wonderful place to sit, contemplate the beautiful Loire river, and dream.
