Log home has extensive water filter system due to its location which requires adding salt to the system once a month. Long-term renter must understand this system and its features which will be explained by owner. Full laundry in basement, with walk-out area that leads down to the Salt pond. Flower and vegetable garden may or may not be planted depending on length of rental or the season. Satellite is only available TV access (which does not include local Bangor channels), besides video and DVD.

Walk along the shore line or through the forest to enjoy the natural beauty of Maine full of wildlife and adventure .

Amenities and sleeping accommodations Four bedrooms (sleeps 8 adults comfortably) with three full baths, a sauna, huge front porch facing the water, large back porch, and canoe and kayak at renters' disposal. Fully-furnished with easy access at lower level for those needing extra assistance or have difficulty negotiating stairs. Second fire place in lower living room as well as guest suite for those who want additional privacy. Sauna and washer/dryer located on lower level with walk-out to gardens and water.

Fun things to do in Blue Hill, Maine and vicinity This log home is located in Blue Hill Falls, 2 1/2 miles from the town of Blue Hill, which was founded in the 1800's on the coast of Maine. Town has several fine-dining restaurants, as well as several family-styled restaurants, gift shops, antique stores, art galleries, country and yacht clubs, public tennis courts, local library, town park, and kniesel hall, famous for its summer concert series. Day sailing is also available via sandollar sailing, 1/2 hr. from Blue Hill is Ellworth/Trenton, which has outlet stores, cinemas, public golf course as well as a zoo, water and theme parks, local art and crafts stores, restaurants, and local airport. Acadia National Park of Bar Harbor is 40 miles away. The old fishing town of Stonington from which one can take the ferry to Isle Au Haut is 20 miles away. Bangor is 1 hour away; Augusta 2 hours away; and Freeport/Portland approx. 2 1/2-3 hrs. away. Boston, MA is 4-5 hours away depending on traffic.
