Newly furnished 2006, cathedral ceiling, balcony, wood stove, deck, dsl, all new appliances:from washer/dryer to coffee grinder to Saki cups, trails run through my properties past organic plantings of fruit, nut trees and hundreds of plantings that support the abundant wildlife (from bluebirds to eagles), access my pond, 2 streams, adjoins thousands of acres of the 20 mile long reservoir, on which I have a boat available to you for fishing, or bike along the quiet roads, you lookout upon the mountains of the forever wild Catskill Park, yet only minutes from the delightful village of Andes with shops, restaurants and galleries.

Rental Rates for the cabin in Catskills, New York, USA



Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • (off peak—peak) weekly $900—$1200., weekends $450—$600. midweek $175—$250 a night—2night minimum
  • Peak Season: Memorial Day to October 31st /Off Peak November to mid-May
    Two night minimum (all weekends include Fri afternoon to early Sunday Evening): .
    Peak: $300 a night Off/Peak: $250 a night
    Three day minimums for Holidays— $775. for 3 nights0
    Four day minimums for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years— $975. for 4 nights
    Mid-week Mon.—Thur. (2 night minimum): Peak: $250 a night Off/Peak: $225 a night
    Weekly rentals run Friday late afternoon to following Friday morning:
    Peak: $1200. Off/Peak: $1000.
    Monthly: Peak: $4800 Off/Peak: $3600.
    Season—Memorial Day to Labor Day: $15,000. for longer rentals please enquire
    Have a large group of people, consider renting both of my homes—please enquire
    (maximum for both homes—12 people.) No young children but infants are okay.
  • A security deposit of 30% ($250 minimum) is required to reserve the rental (40% if a pet or children are accompanying you.) The full amount of the
    rental is required two weeks prior to the start of the rental period. Termination will
    have a full refund if they are received at least 30 days prior to the start of the rental.
    Termination received within 15-30 days of the start of the rental start will forfeit half
    the deposit. Termination received within 15 days of the start of the rental start will
    forfeit the entire deposit. An $80 cash cleaning fee must be left at the house at the
    end of the rental. For rentals of less than 7 days Delaware County sales tax of 8
    percent must be added.

This is a quiet haven, I do not want any off road machines of any kind whining about, be it ski mobiles, ATVs, dirt bikes or any variation on that theme. No smoking indoors. Double glass doors lead to the front deck, windows all around bring in the outdoors. 32” TV with surround sound system/radio/DVD/CD/VHS (no TV reception--but Video store is in town and I have some movies--or bring your own and a gamebox. DSL. A fire pit. A well behaved dog is welcome but no cats--some people have allergies. You are only allowed to place Registered Rowboats on the reservoir (they must be steam cleaned and registered at the NYC DEP in Downsville) and only used for the purpose of fishing. I happen to have such a boat on the reservoir and it is available to rentees who have a NY State fishing license plus a Public Access Permit, obtained (free) from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection. All NYCDEP regulations apply.

Take great hikes starting at the front door or throughout the Catskill Park which begins on the other side of the reservoir offering trails of varying degrees of difficulty. The quiet winding road that runs below my properties is a favorite for bicyclists--it is 14 miles from my cabin to the end of the road in Downsville and you will only pass 7 homes along the way.

My other house is the nearest dwelling--a hundred yards away and tucked behind spruce trees. You are welcome to share my pond and walk the trails to discover little natural events. (Should I have this home rented you would need to have the permission of those rentee's to have access.) Have a large group? Rent both of my homes (12 maximum)--see my other listing on this site 138687.

5 ski resorts in the area as well a snow tubing. Bring snowshoes & crampons for the Catskill trails. Several rivers offer good kayaking and canoeing, while the Beaverkill is a world class fly fishing stream. Or just curl up by the fire with a book and beverage of choice. In summer sit on the deck and watch fireflies dance under a star studded sky, I hope you find this a comfortable mountain retreat to recharge & reconnect.
