If you like to be on the go, the Star Villa is located near many recreational areas for both summer and winter. Historical sites (ie; Town of Jim Thorpe), antiquing, outlet shopping, whitewater rafting, golf, the Pocono Raceway, Balloon Festival and craft fairs are some of the fun & exciting things available to you thru out the year. Pocono Mountain Region offers a variety of activities to do. New this year is Mt. Airy Casino about 25 minutes away. Jim Thorpe area has live plays and historical areas. Dorney Park is only 45 minutes away. Knoebels Amusement Park is 40 minutes away(free admission). Plenty of amenities within the Arrowhead Lake Resort. Many parks and areas to fish. Don't just think the Poconos is for the winter only. The summer is a busy time between fishing, carnivals, antiquing are just a few. Then the fall foliage is absolutely gorgeous besides all the autumn activities. The Spring is just as beautiful with many activities - Blues Festival, NASCAR etc. In the winter there is a sledding hill in the development or bring your skates to ice skate on one of the lakes!! So think of the Poconos as your four season vacation resort!!

You can relax and just stay at Arrowhead or you can shop at Country Junction , the worlds largest country store with great prices on Route 209. They carry everything from hardware to beautiful furniture. Sit and have a lite lunch while you are there! Go to the Christmas Factory in Marshall's Creek. It is open year round. Save about 50% on Christmas items. The Odd Lot Outlet is also in Marshall's Creek. I-80 exit 309. Call ahead for hours open 7 days a week. You can go to the Crossings Premium Outlets on I-80 exit 299 Tannersville, Pa. Approximately 100 designer brand name outlets. Start your shopping now at discounted prices! New this year - Mt. Airy Casino about 25 minutes away! If you just want to relax, you can curl up in front of the fireplace or relax on the large deck! The Star Villa is the place to be!

Skiing Information: 2/2/07 - Bayamon, Puerto Rico - Niece saw snow for 1st time and was worth it all. 2/16/07 - skiing was great and kids enjoyed snowball fights in yard. Loved watching the snow fall while sitting near the fireplace.
