Visit the surrounding islands Once you get there, you won't need your car! Nestled in Stonington harbor, The Brown House is within walking distance to groceries, library, ice cream and antique shops, ferry terminal, restaurants. However, the private deck gives you beautiful views and is peaceful and quiet. Walk along the waterfront and watch the harbor bustle along or enjoy day trips to the various islands. The mail boat cruises through the tiny islands of Merchant's Row and takes passengers to the village dock at Isle au Haut. During summer months it also stops at Duck Harbor at the Acadia National Park. This park covers more than half of Isle au Haut and offers both easy and challenging walking trails, rugged beaches and gorgeous ocean views.

easy access to water If you have kayaks or a boat, there is easy access right off of the house to water. From there, you can explore the various islands of Merchant's Row or head to Acadia National Park
