Winchester is located at the northern tip of Virginia in the naturally beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley. The area is known for its important role in the Civil War, as the home of Patsy Cline and the Apple Blossom Festival. There is much to do and see in Winchester and the surrounding area, including lots of hiking, antiquing, and historic exploring. You are close enough to Washington and Baltimore to explore the big cities and return to the house. There are many caverns in the area and Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive are just minutes away. You are a short drive away to many sights in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia and western Maryland.

Further Details for the house in Virginia, USA
Comments from Guests Winchester was such a pleasant surprise. This city is remarkable in that all of the old homes survived the Civil War. It has a low-key lovely small town feeling. You can walk 2 blocks to the downtown which has a large pedestrian-only mall. The Peter Miller House has been renovated in such a way as to retain the very old flavor of Winchester homes but with all of the modern amenities you could want. A great kitchen, really nice fenced-in rear courtyard, 3 nice bedrooms, modern bathrooms and a lovely common room and dining room. There are nice shops and restaurants within walking distance plus tons of lovely very old Winchester houses to look at as you stroll around the neighborhood. Nearby attractions, include the excellent Museum of the Shenandoah, a winery, and nice hiking plus lots more all quite close by. We hope to return, thanks!
Guestbook Comment Really enjoyed our stay -- Winchester was a delightful surprise! The house is great -- nice work! We'll be back.
