This cottage is off the beaten track on a private and quiet dead end road. Beachcombing along 1.5 mile Crescent Beach is 2 miles away. A lobster dealer/farm market, full grocery store with excellent wines and post office, Video Jam, drug store, local restaurant, ice cream stand, general store are all within 2 miles. All this and the vibrant city of Portland only 15 minutes away.

oceanview, private, quaint w/ deck & lawn area This large, newly renovated and furnished winterized cottage is located on a private cove/road that was once a quaint lobstering /fishing community. At the cove, panoramic ocean views include the Casco Bay islands, Portland ships' channel and historic Portland Headlight. A nature trail leads to a rocky promontory point where the rugged Maine coast can be seen at its best. The same spectacular coastline can be seen from the cottage's roof deck. The small private cove beach can be enjoyed only 200 feet away. The natural backyard has wild blueberries, fruit trees, exposed ledge and gardens leading up to a wooded area. Outdoor recreational activities can be enjoyed on the lawn area. Ample parking is provided as well as a newly constructed deck with gas grill and furniture for outdoor dining and relaxing. Activities info as well as maps and restaurant guides are provided.
scenic Cape Elizabeth beach, parks, trails CE is 12 miles of open ocean peninsula. It is an upscale community 15 minutes from Portland, a vibrant historical port city. It is home to Crescent Beach and Two Lights State Parks. Crescent Beach is 2 miles of sandy beach while Two Lights was made famous by painter Edward Hopper. Prouts Neck, the haunts of Winslow Homer, is only a few miles down the road in a neighboring community. Portland Headlight, commissioned by G. Washington is at CE's oceanside park and playground, Fort Williams, where kite flying is a popular activity. Active sports such as swimming, kayaking, body surfing, boating, fishing, biking, hiking, wind surfing can be enjoyed as well as whale-watching, sun-bathing and beach combing. CE provides bike paths along its major Route 77, has a library with internet access, and has a fitness center/pool at its high school open to the public at a nominal fee. A map of miles of nature trails set aside by The CE Land Trust can provide the nature buff with much pleasure.
exciting Portland and vicinity Portland is a vibrant city with a working waterfront and Old Port Exchange District. From Portland, boat/kayak/bike rentals are available as well as island tours and whale-watching. Excellent restaurants of many ethnicities can be enjoyed as well as upscale boutiques, antique shops and galleries. Periodic Art Shows and Crafts Fairs occur while exhibits are ongoing at Portland Museum of Art located in the newly built IM Pie building adjoining the McLellan-Sweat historic home. The Arts District is also home to many artists' studios and The Children's Museum. Historic homes such as the Longfellow House, Victoria Mansion, Tate House can also be visited. The Old Port is also home to many pubs offering micro-brews, a variety of live music, and a comedy shop. The Portland Civic Center offers big name concerts and hosts a variety of events. 35 min north is LL Bean and Freeport Outlet stores. Aquaboggin and FunTown Amusement Parks are 30 min south. Sebago Lake is 30 min west.
