Summer time in the Belgrades! Our cottage is located in the Belgrade Lakes Region of Central Maine. The water here is fantastic for swimming, boating and fishing - very clear and pristine. Whether you are seeking a quiet place to curl up with a book or want a place to bring your family for the vacation of a life time, you'll find it in the Belgrades. There are lots of great local hikes for all levels, boat rentals (experienced boaters, ask about ours), swimming, fishing, family activities, restaurants, theater, white water rafting and a full schedule of summer festivals. We have a 5 Star Public Golf Course, an Internet Cafe, Antique Dealers, a General Store, a Day Spa and a Strawberry Patch all within 2 miles of our cottage. You can even hire SummerSet's recommended gourmet chef during your vacation stay. We are on the main road (Route 27) which provides easy access to everything and you can easily access the town docks from our cottage if you prefer to go to the village by boat.

  • Each bathroom was newly painted in the spring of 2006 and updated with new bronze light and bath fixtures. White tile floors with lots of cottage accents. New towels and throw rugs. On-demand hot water heater installed spring 2007. New windows installed in the spring of 2008. Stocked with hand soap, shower soap, shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, tissues, cotton balls, Q-tips, hair dryers and a few other special touches.

Each bedroom was newly furnished in the spring of 2006 with fresh paint, new furniture/mattresses, and linens. New bedroom & bathroom windows were installed in the spring of 2008. Lots of special touches and cottage accents.

Owners are willing to assist those traveling with small children as much as possible. Dog Friendly: We welcome dog lovers and most dogs. Pets must be well trained and a non-barking breed. Non-Smoking Rental Only: This is strictly a non-smoking rental. Smoking is NOT Permitted Anywhere on the Property! If anyone in your group smokes, we are not a good rental match for you.

Helpful Links for Planning your Vacation There is a binder at SummerSet for local activities (dining, boating, fishing, hiking etc.). I also provide all of our renters with an online version to help plan from away. This includes directions and area information, a dining directly, local entertainment, boating, fishing, hiking, day spa, chef services, golf, shopping, mail boat rides and more.

Something for Everyone Boaters - Long Pond is a fantastic lake for boating and swimming. There are many coves and two large (long) sections of the lake to explore separated by a bridge at Castle Island Road. You can go to Day's General Store by boat for coffee, a fishing license, pizza, ice cream or whatever you have forgotten. The Village town dock is also available if you want to go to dinner by boat, do some shopping or antiquing. Both are easily accessible from our cottage. If you are booking in July and August, make sure you book at Great Pond Marina early. Experienced boaters, please inquire about renting our boat, a 16 1/2' Sting Ray, 110HP. Fishermen (and women) - Long Pond is rumored to be one of the best in Maine. Golfers - Belgrade Lakes 5 star public course is on 5 minutes away. Sugarloaf, another challenging course is an hour away. Bird/Garden Lovers - You will enjoy the beautiful perennial gardens and many birds that visit the property.

Recent Updates We are constantly working to make SummerSet more perfect. Here are just a few of the improvements: 2006 - All furniture/furnishings for home. New interior paint and fixtures. 2007 - On-demand hot water heater installed. Replaced septic tank. 2008 - Energy efficient windows installed in bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. New area rugs & wicker deck furniture. More new signs:)

Golf Information: Belgrade Lakes Golf Course is a 5 star public course. There is another very challenging course at Sugarloaf, only an hour north on 27.
