Vineyard Haven house Rental Property Information

This spacious home in desirable West Chop is the perfect location for quiet and accessibility. Located a short walk from town, Owen Little Park and the West Chop Lighthouse, the house is 1 short block from Grove Avenue beach. The property is beautifully landscaped on more than 1/3 acre. It features two master bedrooms, perfect for two families to share. Front and back stairs provide excellent flow. The kitchen is fully stocked, there's a new Weber Genesis gas grill on the deck. The rear yard is large, private and fenced-in with plenty of deck and backyard seating and a hot tub to add a nice finish to your day. The home has 3.5 baths plus an outdoor shower off the deck. There are three fireplaces including one in the master bedroom. The interior is beautifully decorated,filled with original art, the landscaping is mature with many flower beds. In the evenings, sit out on the front porch or the back deck. There will be little you need that is not available in this fully stocked home.

Our lovely house is located just off Main Street by the water in West Chop, a quiet residential area past the commercial district of Vineyard Haven. It is situated 1 block from the beach and midway between West Chop Lighthouse and commercial Main Street. There are many beautiful walks and bike rides in the area. The house features a quiet, fenced-in rear yard and offers privacy. There is lots to do a short drive from home. Within a 15 minute drive you can visit downtown Oak Bluffs or Edgartown; take the ferry to Chappaquiddick, swim or sun at Long Point Beach, State Beach, South Beach, walk around (or dig for clams in) Lake Tashmoo, go back in time to the quiet, four-acre fishing hole known as Seth's Pond, rent or charter a boat, take a sailing cruise at sunset, enjoy a meal at countless restaurants, make bead jewelry at Beadniks, hike or mountain bike in the state forest, explore antique shops and art galleries, treat your kids to a children's park, just to name a few ideas.

  • The washer and dryer is located in the 1st floor bath, right opposite the 'everyday' door off the porch, making it easy to bring towels into the house and straight to the washer/dryer without going down to the basement. All bathrooms have windows.

  • Master 1 is a corner room overlooking the front and side of the house. It is an inviting and spacious room featuring 2 window seats, a working fireplace and a wall-mounted, 42'' high definition plasma TV with DVD. Master 2 is also a spacious room overlooking the rear yard. It has TV and DVD as well. The bathroom for Master 2 is privately located off the landing at top of back stairs, just outside of the bedroom. Bedrooms 3 and 4 share a third upstairs bathroom which separates them and both overlook the rear yard. Bedroom 3 has two twin beds separated by a night table which can be moved to combine the beds. It also has a small TV/DVD player. Bedroom 4 is a trundle bed so the twin bed has a pull-out second twin bed. Bedroom 4 also has a desk with an Internet ready laptop computer, speakers and fax/copier/printer. Both bedrooms 3 and 4 provide ample room for unpacking with large closets and tall dressers All bedrooms are carpeted.

1 block walk to Grove Avenue beach, a quiet neighborhood beach. It is a 1 mile walk or bike ride to town, even shorter to the West Chop lighthouse. The eat-in kitchen is fitted out with all the conveniences of home and there is also spacious dining room with a table that easily seats eight. There is a large living room with a fireplace and a separate family room with TV and fireplace. The rear deck is accessed through sliding doors off the family room. The 340 square foot deck has a Weber Genesis gas grill as well as a glass-top wrought-iron table and chairs and a wooden picnic table with benches. There is also Adirondack-style wood seating and table for the yard. There is a lovely red brick front porch with bench seating and a side table. This is a great place to sit and enjoy the clear sky and evening air. The back yard is large, flat, open, private and fenced-in with plenty of room for your family to enjoy your favorite fun and activity. Audio/video library is limited.

Walk to town for breakfast, take leisurely walks and bike rides to explore the beautiful surroundings, visit the West Chop lighthouse and watch the sun set from the park facing west at the head of the chop. Located near a large and beautiful inn if you plan extra people or visitors. Grove Avenue beach is 5 houses down the block, perfect if you have small children or like to kayak or canoe. Skateboard park a short drive away.

All the comforts of home Planning to do some cooking at home? We'd be surprised if there is something you need which is not in the fully stocked kitchen (except food, of course!). There are books, games, a video game machine with games, TVs, DVDs, a VCR, children's videos, an indoor/outdoor stereo with XM satellite radio, wireless broadband Internet access, a fax/copier/printer and more. Let us know if there is something in particular you need and if we don't have it we can help you find it. Finally, so you don't spend your last hours cleaning, a $150.00 cleaning fee will be deducted from your deposit. This covers cleaning for all ordinary use of the property.
