You also have your own lake behind the cottage where you and yours can practice your skills before heading for the 'big water'. Yes, there are good sized fish in it! And after a fun filled OBX day, relax in the great 6-person hot tub where you can enjoy the sound of the surf breaking onto the beach. Rodanthe has a water slide, go carts, kayak and sailboat rentals as well as several local fishing stores and surf shops. Hatteras Island's full of historical sights, including the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk, 5 light houses and Ocracoke Island where you can enjoy turning back the clock of time as you walk through its quaint village. Rodanthe, Salvo, Waves, 3 linked villages centrally located on Hatteras Island, minutes from Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk and Manteo to the North, and Hatteras Village to the South where you can drive aboard the free ferry for a scenic, comfortable 20 minute ride to historic Ocracoke Island. There you can enjoy bowsing the shops in its quaint village, see one of the oldest light houses on the outer banks, dine at one of its several fine restaurants, or, for a small fee, travel on by ferry to the mainland at Wilmington, NC.

Cottage By The Pier OBX Vacation Last minute trips for couples, families and fishing friends are no problem in this little cottage right by the sea. Clean, neat and newly remodeled, this is one of the best values on the beach. Very close to the Ocean!
