Lake Nantahala cabin Rental Property Information

Surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest, this new log cabin is the perfect weekend getaway! Enjoy sitting on the deck and listening to the wind in the trees or try kayaking the Nantahala River Gorge. With 5 acres of mountain woods, don’t be surprised if you spot a family of deer while eating breakfast. Each morning the mountains transform into a world of color and surprise. I just can't describe how peaceful it is to sit on the deck and watch the sun rise and set each day.Try fishing in the highest elevation lake east of the Mississippi (Nantahal Lake- 1 mile down the road) or just take a stroll in our woods and make your own leaf collection of Laurel, Oak, Pine, Sassafras, Maple, and Birch trees. The towns of Andrews and Murphy are just a short drive away if you don’t want to cook your own meals. Area activities include: whitewater rafting; hiking; mountain biking; kayaking; hunting; mountain climbing; swimming; fishing; boating; golfing - or bring a favorite DVD in case of rain

10 minutes from downtown Andrews NC - off of Junaluska Road. Nestled in the mountains bordering Nantahala National Forest - off of Nantahala Lake. Ideal location for fishing, boating, and swimming. Convenient to several mountain bike trails, hiking, and if you’re into motorcycling – the area is flooded with scenic drives - including the infamous 'Tail of the Dragon'. Hunting season is incredible around this area. Wild Turkey, Deer, and Black Bear are just a few of the choices.

Driving Conditions We have gone to great lengths to make the cabin accessible, but we can not guarantee your vehicle will have traction to pull you up our steep 800 ft. driveway. Therefore, we highly recommend 4 wheel drive. If you experience slipping on the gravel drive we ask that you not force it - thereby creating ruts and loosening the rocks for future renters. Instead we ask that you walk the short drive to the cabin. Again - all but the last 800 feet of the driveway are paved and completely accessible. We do not refund due to your vehicles difficulty in climbing that short section of the driveway.

Guest Book Hi Mike, We enjoyed our stay at your cabin. The boys loved the toys and sleeping loft and we all enjoyed the fire pit. It is a shame you don't have more of a view of the mountains in summer, I'm sure you can see them in the winter. My husband missed having the TV too. I was quite happy to be without TV. The rental process went great and the lock box at the property made it easy to access. We took care of the property as per other rentals although we felt unsure about leaving the trash. It might be helpful for you and guests to leave directions on what to do before leaving the cabin. i.e. Dishwasher, laundry, trash etc. The weather was a little rainy but it didn't stop us much. We explored many back roads and discovered some beautiful waterfalls. The Road to Nowhere was a thrill for our boys as the hike sets off through a long tunnel. I hope you enjoy your cabin and good look putting the bench in up the mountain. ]
