'Pine Shadows' is a wooded mountain chalet A-frame with 3 BR/ 2 BA, wrap-around decks, a 25' ceiling, open floor plan, and cozy wood fireplace. Tucked in the western North Carolina foothills of the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains, the cabin is nestled on three private acres in the woods with westerly long-range views in winter and spring and lovely gorge and woodland views in summer and fall. Columbus, NC is known for its good weather year round, making the house easily accessible at any time of the year. The chalet is four miles from Tryon, NC and 10 miles from Lake Lure, 22 miles from Hendersonville, and 43 miles from Asheville. 'Pine Shadows' is a rustic cabin with all modern conveniences. It is a short drive to the higher elevations and attractions of Asheville and Hendersonville.

'Pine Shadows' chalet is off the beaten track. The cabin in nestled in the woods at the top of a private paved road in the township of Columbus, NC (Pop. 992), just off Interstate 26 (I-26). The house is three minutes from downtown Columbus, ten miles from Lake Lure, four miles west of Tryon, 22 miles east of Hendersonville, 43 miles southeast of Asheville, and 30 miles north of Spartanburg, SC. Western North Carolina is known for its gorgeous mountains and quaint towns. Columbus is located in one of North Carolina's isothermal belts, where the weather is most often quite moderate and winters are extremely mild.

  • PAYMENTS
    Personal checks 30 or more days ahead of reserved arrival. Also electronic funds transfer or credit cards through PayPal.

    SECURITY DEPOSIT
    A $300 security deposit is added to the total and is refundable within 14 days of your stay.

    PAYMENT SCHEDULE
    1. A deposit of 50% is due within 7 days of verbal or written confirmation.
    2. The balance of payment is due no later than 30 days ahead of arrival.
    3. Payment-in-full by credit card or electronic funds transfer is due for reservations made fewer than 30 days before arrival.

    CANCELLATIONS
    1. Intent to cancel should be made in writing to the owner as soon as possible .
    2. No cancellation fee is charged if reservation is rescheduled within 6 months of the original arrival.
    3. 50% of total will be retained for any cancellation made 30 or fewer days prior to reserved arrival.
    4. 25% of total will be retained for cancellation made more than 31 days prior to reserved arrival.
    5. Travel insurance is suggested.

**WHEELCHAIRS: There are three exterior steps from the garage or from the front entrance into the cabin. The entire downstairs as well as the deck is accessible for wheelchairs through standard doorways. Two bedrooms and a bathroom are downstairs. Living areas are carpeted. Kitchen and bath have vinyl flooring. The owner's parents (ages 86 and 94) can comfortably navigate downstairs areas as well as the landscaped areas surrounding the cabin.
