Family Vacation home on beautiful wooded lot 1 mile from Lake MI in Harbor Country. Less than 2 hours from the Chicago area, 8 miles from New Buffalo, and 3.5 miles from Warren Dunes State Park. The main house was recently remodeled with new siding, windows, A/C, large screened porch, new patio, new family room, 2 bedrooms, living room, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, and utility/computer/laundry room. Fully furnished with refrigerator, all linens and towels, dishes, washer/dryer, cable TV, Cable internet, XP computer, dozens of games, books, gas grill, patio furniture, and much more. The cottage also has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, and a large screened porch. The large 1/3 acre property has an open area for kids to run and play games, along with beautiful trees and landscaping. Several Beautiful, uncrowded public beaches with sand-dunes nearby. 3.5 mi. from Warren Dunes, 8 mi. from New Buffalo, 1 mile from Lake MI., Exit 6 on 94 Our family has been coming to Harbor Country for more than 25 years. We love the beautiful uncrowded beaches, nice locals, excellent and reasonably priced restaurants, abundance of antique shops, fruit farms, tennis courts, nearby golf courses, festivals, bike riding (the Apple Cider century race is held here), Blue Chip Casino (20 minutes in MI City), and having a quiet place to get together with family and friends. We spend lots of time on the large screened porch playing games, reading, talking, bird-watching. We play tennis, go to the beach, and grill out or go to dinner at nearby restaurants like Capozios, Redamaks (famous for the hamburgers in nearby New Buffalo). You can even surf in lake MI when the wind is right (usually from late Aug.- Dec.)

What to Expect Our family, friends, and others have been enjoying this vacation property for more than 20 years. If you need luxury, on the beach, and touristy this place is not for you. If you and your family are looking for a beautiful and relaxing place with great beaches and lots of activities nearby then you should consider this place. Ideal for 1-2 families, or 3-4 couples. Responsible, mature, and respectful only. We have been reluctant to rent our place until recently, but after having good experiences donating weekly rentals to our church auction and seeing how well people took care of it and how much they enjoyed the experience we decided to rent out when we aren't there 2 weeks each month. Please only consider renting this if you will treat our place as if it is your own.

It is like recharging batteries. However it was the opposite after returning home in late June. The vacation was actually relaxing and my internal batteries were fully charged. I read my book while my son was enchanted by the fire in the pit. Great conversation could always be found on the screened back porch, however privacy was a few steps away if desired. Watching the hummingbirds zoom around was actually the most energy I needed to expel. We all had a wonderful time and can't wait to return.
