Bonaparte Lake Bonaparte (at one time the domain of Napolean's brother Joseph, who had lost his kingship of Spain) is a clear, clean lake, low in acid and rich in plant, insect and fish life. From Loon Island you can wade right in from our sand beach. If you would rather catch fish than join them, you will be most successful in the cooler weather.
