Rockland is an exciting city full of restaurants, pubs, wine bars, art galleries, renowned museums, and shops of all descriptions, at the same time retaining its historical ambiance. A concert hall and a restored 1920's movie theater complete the downtown. The grand natural harbor, with its exceptional breakwater and lighthouse, is dotted with pleasure yachts and sailboats and the largest windjammer fleet in the world. Yet Rockland still has a working harbor with a commerical fishing and lobster boat fleet. A State Ferry operates daily to the off-shore islands. Rockland is called “The Lobster Capital Of the World”, and 'The Gateway to Penobscot Bay.' There’s no place like Penobscot Bay for walking and exploring, fishing, sailing, kayaking, hiking and rock climbing. And in the evenings in Rockland, rejoin society, and eat out, go to a concert or a film. Rockland has something to offer everybody, young and old. Come and stay at the Zadoc F Brewster House and see for yourself!

Guest Book I wanted to drop you a line to let you know that we loved your place at Captain Zadoc Brewster House. We couldn't believe a rental could be so nice. Charlie and I said that if we ever bought a house in Maine, it would have to be just like yours - your taste is exquisite! We loved every last detail you have put into the apartments, from the pictures on the wall, to the great designs in bedding, curtains and furniture, even the taps, plates and more. And of course the wonderful array of books on the book shelf...I could have read one after the other if I'd just had enough time. I did read 'Without Reservations' and loved that!
Other Activities rock climbing, kayaking, hiking,
