This unique upscale home has been in my family for the last 75 years and sleeps 7. Located 3 blocks from downtown Edgartown, it is on a safe dead-end lane that is perfect for a family or a couple that wants complete privacy. Originally the boathouse for the Dagget house on Edgartown Harbor, this historic cottage was completely renovated 4 years ago and 2 years ago an addition was built. The original cottage is comprised of a gourmet kitchen with Italian tile, a wonderful dining room with curved ceiling leading to an outdoor shower. The large outdoor stone patio overlooks Sheriff's Meadow Bird Sanctuary. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with three single beds. There is a full bath downstairs and a half bath upstairs. The addition includes a large living area with huge windows, entertainment center with TV/DVD/VCR, and fully equipped wet bar. Upstairs, the beautiful master bedroom suite with full balcony offers a breathtaking panoramic ocean view of Nantucket Sound and at night, Cape Cod. It is also equipped with TV/DVD/VCR. There is also a large master bathroom.
Included in the rent is the use of Black Point in Chilmark, one of the most beautiful private beaches on Martha's Vineyard. Black Point is a 30 minute drive from the house and you will be given a key that will give you access to this property. The nearest beach to the house is Fuller Street Beach, next to the lighthouse, a 15 minute walk.
