Oak Bluffs house Rental Property Information

As you approach our home, you'll recognize its large, wrap-around porch and white lattice. It is near East Chop, about halfway between Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven centers. You'll enjoy the shade of the porch and the sunny yard bordered by hedges and a beautiful, new white fence. A picnic table with an umbrella is on the lawn with another on the porch. Salt water is at the foot of the street. Eastville and Lagoon Beaches are within a 10-minute walk. The fully-furnished home has a well-equipped kitchen. Everything needed for cooking and serving meals is provided. Just add your favorite foods. The dining room, living room, 2 baths and 5 inviting bedrooms (comfortably sleeping 9) make the house a home. The living room has cable TV, a VCR/DVD player, couch and chairs. Playing cards, games, puzzles and books are provided for your enjoyment. Across the breezeway from the kitchen is the laundry room with a washer, dryer, gas and charcoal grills, yard games and another shower, inside.

Bringing A Car With You? A ferry reservation is required to bring a car to Martha's Vineyard Island. We suggest booking space for your car in January. Go to SteamshipAuthority.com or call. They operate between Woods Hole on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard. Check-in time at our home is after 4pm, and check-out is by 11am. If you choose to leave your car on the mainland, there is a calendar-day charge of about $10 at most ferry ports. Passenger-only ferries operate from Woods Hole, Falmouth and New Bedford, MA and Quonset Point, RI. You may also fly to the Vineyard: Call CapeAir or go to their website. We provide Island maps for our guests. An excellent bus system connects with the airport, ferry terminals, our house and most points on the Island. 1-, 3- and 7-day passes are available on board any bus. Longer term passes may be purchased at 2 Island locations. There are also bikes to rent near both ferry terminals. One of the many bike paths, goes by the house.

Importance of car-ferry reservations The key is to make car-ferry reservations as early as possible with the Steamship Authority, by phone or online. On-Island car rental agencies include the big names as well as some smaller ones. Contact them at their websites or toll-free numbers. Car rental rates on the Vineyard are higher than on the Mainland.

More Vineyard Info The Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce is located near both ferry terminals: Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven (Tisbury). We can also recommend the Vineyard Gazette and Martha's Vineyard Times newspapers available at the Vineyard Haven Cumberland Farms and at Pharmacies and newspaper stores in most towns. There are several free publications about Island happenings available on the ferries, at the terminals and in various stores on The Vineyard.

Golf Information: Public golf courses are located in Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs. The nearest, Farm Neck, is less than a mile from the house. Vineyard Haven also has miniature golf with home-made ice cream on the premises.
