Orr's Island cottage Rental Property Information

This family house, 'Treetops' sits on a hill above the water. With a large wrap-around porch, it is the perfect place to enjoy cocktails on a Summer evening and watch the sun set over Mount Washington, NH and Harpswell Sound. House offers protected platform in Beal's Cove, part of Harpswell Sound, giving guests a perfect place to launch canoes, kayaks, or boats, to swim or to spend the afternoon skipping rocks. The house was built in the early 1900's, but newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms offer modern day comforts to complement the old Maine charm. Rooms include a den/study, living room, separate dining room, and the new spacious eat-in kitchen - all with great water views! Also, the house offers plenty of sleeping space (see above). Working fireplace in living room and gas fireplace in kitchen take the nip out of potentially chilly mornings or evenings. Family photos and details throughout. Also offers abundant land for outdoor games & shared tennis court.

Location

Private water access makes it a perfect place to: swim, sail, kayak, canoe, fish. House also has access to a shared tennis court and large yard. Orr's and surrounding islands offer plenty of other activities. Tons of great hiking is accessible; the Harpswell Land Trust and Bowdoin Land Trust are all within a few minutes drive. Lots of opportunities to take a boat or ferry ride or rent some kayaks for sea kayaking. Shopping on the islands, includes antiques, candy shops, and gift stores. Also, just a 30 minute drive from shopper's heaven - the outlets in Freeport. Eat your heart out at the local restaurants, including the famous Cook's Lobsterhouse which has a view of the last standing cribstone bridge! Short drive from Brunswick: offering golf, Bowdoin College, music theater and more great stores and restaurants. About a 45 minute drive from the city of Portland where you can visit the Old Port, more restaurants, shops, museums, theater and micro-breweries.

Pick your own mussels straight from the water and buy some lobsters from the local lobstermen and cook up a meal that you will never forget. Take an afternoon nap in the hammock and feel all your stress melt away. Don't be surprised if you don't want to leave the house all week! Plenty of sleeping space, makes it perfect for a family reunion or get-together with friends. There are four bedrooms, 1 with queen bed, 1 with full bed, 2 with 2 twin beds. Plus 1 bunk room with 6 bunks - perfect for kids of all ages. Also available is a couch with pull-out bed in study. Pillows and blankets included, linens and towels are not. Food/grocery and sundries stores are easily accessible.
