Maine summer retreat on coast of Penobscot Bay. Less than 30 yards is private Holiday Beach(rocky, pebbly,sandy).. Two sandy beaches 2 miles away. Rock skipping, sunbathing, long strolls encouraged. Windjammers, lobster boats and yachts sail by Monroe and Sheep Islands in front of cottage! Great kayaking and sailing. Launch your kayaks down at beach, coast along the shore to beautiful Crescent Beach. Owls Head Transportation Museum, new Wyeth Center & Farnsworth Museum, newly restored Strand Cinema Theatre, lighthouses, golf courses & beaches nearby. Sailing day trips, ferry rides to nearby islands. Take the ferry to Monhegan Island and spend the day hiking and enjoying a great picnic lunch. Enjoy a muffin and get your daily paper at the quaint Owls Head General Store. (A great jog to the store and to the lighthouse-half a mile away.) Shopping in Rockland and Camden just 10 mins away. Take the family to Waterman's Beach for outside dining of lobster. Bring your own wine & beer.
