The town beach is located within walking distance of the house with a choice of other beaches nearby. The village supports a lively mix of local stores, antique shops, art galleries and restaurants. If you like to cook the North Fork is renowned for its wonderful farm produce, vineyards and fresh fish. Visit local vineyards and taste Long Island's answer to your Napa Valley favorites. If you like to cycle, then pedal around Shelter Island or to Hortons Point Lighthouse and beach. No visit would be complete without a day in New York's best kept secret, Orient State Park and beach. If you need a peaceful beach vacation in friendly fishing villages without commercialization, the North Fork is the place for you.
