West Harwich is located in the mid-Cape area of Cape Cod on Nantucket Sound with miles of ocean and freshwater beaches. The Cape Cod Rail Trail for bicycling runs through the town, and there are well over 600 acres of open space and conservation lands for walking, jogging and bird watching. Launch a kayak or boat around the corner from the house on the Herring River or on the 743 acre Long Pond a few miles away. Kidstuff, such as miniature golf, batting cages and go-go carts, is just minutes away as are restaurants, summer stock and movie theaters, and great shopping. Wonderful public golf courses and tennis are very nearby too. Be sure to take a picture of Harwich's Wychmere Harbor, one of the world's most photographed harbors.
