The Everglades are close enough for a day trip, and there are enough activities to keep you as busy as you want to be. Deep-sea fishing, golf, tennis, shelling, and boating are all favorite pastimes of Marco Island visitors. Naples, Florida is 30 minutes north of Marco Island and has hundreds of up-scale boutiques and restaurants Because of Marco's location south of the Tropical Zone, the weather there is much warmer and fair than northern and central Florida during the winter and springtime, and cooled during the summer from breezes off the Gulf.
