Paradise! Picture a home on a knoll at the edge of the wood, without any other houses in site, overlooking a pond amidst acres of fields with a huge sunny and shady fenced-in yard with hammocks, picnic table, and sandbox. Imagine playing a game of ball in the great flat field out front or sitting on the back porch lost in the reflections dancing on the pond. I could go on and on about how you can stroll down the road and spend time visiting the animals at the farm or going to your private beach on the shore of Lake Tashmoo (tidal salt water). I should also mention that we have made an effort to furnish the house in such a way that you will feel comfortable entertaining friends, yet it is very child friendly with a huge kitchen flowing into a large family room. In addition, there is playroom in the cellar for those moments when a separate space is what someone(s) needs.

Let's start right out the back door, for the kids we have running, playing and digging in the huge yard and surrounding fields, or you can walk or ride your bikes down the % mile private driveway to see the animals at the farm. The surrounding area is known as Northern Pines there is 4 - 5 miles interconnected dirt roads perfect for walking, jogging or mountain bike riding. Bikes can hook up with an island wide trail system. About 1/3 mile from the house is our private beach on Lake Tashmoo, which is a mile long tidal estuary, connected to Vineyard Sound on the Northern Side of the Island. Tashmoo is a great place to swim or go for a row in our rowboat; a rental firm in town can deliver a Sunfish or Hobbie Cat, which are great fun to sail. One can also purchase a shellfish license and pursue clams along the shore and on the tidal flats near our beach. A short row out to the opening in the evening yields a great picnic and fishing spot with famous sunsets.

It's a tradition in our area to name your home, I hope you can see why we chose paradise, a million miles away from it all yet only three miles to downtown Vineyard Haven. We have had a lot of success in the past 6 years renting to one or two family groups, or a family over several weeks with various extended family members coming for a short visits.
