Further Details for the house in Stratton and Bromley Ski Areas, Vermont, USA
More Details The house is located about 1/3 of the way up and into a 30 acre property, which means you are deep in the woods with no one else around. The land slopes up reasonably steeply to where the house is, and then flattens out above it. You could walk out of the house, and hike for 10 miles without seeing another person or house (I've done this). The house itself is a post and beam three level house. The first level has two bedrooms, laundry room, and a playroom that includes a couch, TV and DVD player (and it will have a gamecube and some games by the time you get up there). The playroom opens up and out onto the hillside, and the driveway as it snakes down to the town road. A slate patio sits outside, along with a grassy hillside. The second level has a bathroom with shower, an office (where the crib is). The rest of the second floor is wide open, the living room soars up 2 stories, the dining area is encased in glass above and on 2 sides, and the open kitchen is well equipped.
More Details (cont..) In the living room are a large couch, a second smaller couch, a 24' TV, and a DirecTV video system. On the second floor, a large deck wraps around the house. The deck overlooks the hills, the trees, and really makes you feel like you are living in a tree house. A table and chairs are there for outdoor dining, along with two other chairs and a weber grill. On the third level - a master bedroom with king size bed, a full bathroom with tub, and another bedroom with a loft bed - queen size, and underneath a smaller couch, and room for either an inflatable bed, or the crib. The house itself is all built in wood. Huge hand-hewn pine timbers are exposed in post and beam style. The floors are wide pine planks, while the walls and ceiling/sloping roof is painted white sheetrock. Wildlife abounds. Birds chirp and flit about. Owls hoot and hunt at night. Turkey, deer, chipmunks and many other animals are all around.
Testimonials Jim, thanks for a wonderful time in Vermont. The house was lovely. The snow was beautiful. Peace and solitude. .............and those alpacas were the best (there is a one week old baby now too!) Randall and the Thanksgiving gang. --------------------- Sue and I just spent 5 wonderful, cool and relaxing weeks in this beautiful house. We were surrounded by woods and greeted daily by the songs of birds. The house felt like home and our two sons could visit with their families and find spacious bedrooms - even toys for the grandchildren. Our young grandchildren loved the deck because they were able to go in and out of the house at will and play without getting into trouble or falling. Our sons want us to do this again next year. Guest Book Thank YOU! I've been meaning the email you and tell you what a delightful time we had, but have been so busy since we got back that I haven't gotten to it. The house is beautiful, the setting is peaceful, the whole package was very restful. Thank you. Kris ------------------------ I also just wanted to add that we had a fantastic time over Xmas staying at your place – it was very welcoming (the heating already on and the driveway cleared of snow on our arrival) and your house was ideal – great to get all the views out of the windows and it was a perfect size for us. We loved the fact that it is a bit remote with no neighbors right next door and we had great fun sledging right outside the house and must have made a run of about 30 meters. We skied at Stratton which was about a 45 minute drive but well worth it and of course we had fun shopping at the local general store and found a great Chinese in Manchester We hope to come back – perhaps for next Xmas
