As the windsurfing capital of the world, this is definitely not a place to take the little ones for a frolic in the sand, but it is a stunning spot to watch experienced watermen surf, jump and flip their way over the Pacific’s challenging waves.

If you are looking for something in between these two beaches, where you can do more than swim without the worry of Hookipa’s big waves and winds, there is one more option right around the corner from Paia vacation rentals. On the edge of town, Paia Bay, also referred to as Baby Beach, is a good, uncrowded swimming beach that also boasts excellent boogie boarding and body boarding when the waves kick up so you can satisfy your need for water-filled adventures.
