San Diego County – Worlds of Fun
Coming to California for vacation amounts to telling the world that you’re about to have a little fun. For a few lucky days you’ll be free to live the life of a beach bum; even if you stop short of quitting your job and taking up surfing (or taking up with a smokin’ hot surfer dude), you’ll have everything you need to properly enjoy yourself – especially in a densely-packed destination like San Diego County.
Take your pick from among several stellar destinations: La Jolla, Encinitas, Oceanside and Mission Beach/Mission Bay are a few choices that won’t let you down. Each has its own perks and quirks, but they’re similar in that each will make for a fun and fulfilling getaway experience.
Whether you’re enjoying your morning cup of tea on the patio of your vacation house perched right on the beach or once again electing your swimsuit, sarong and flip-flops to serve as your standard uniform, each day is sure to begin with promise. Water sports, lounging by the pool, exploring the cosmopolitan city of San Diego or hitting one of the many big-named attractions (Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and Legoland to name a few) are easy options to consider.
Don’t rule out anything spontaneous or lesser known, however…you could very well end up riding an old-school wooden rollercoaster, slurping an ice cream cone with your best girlfriends or uncovering the bargain of a lifetime on the back rack of an upscale boutique. You could also take a hike, treat your pup to an afternoon at the dog park or treat yourself to a no-holds-barred day at the spa. This is California, after all; along with fun in the sun, the natives also enjoy looking and feeling fantastic. Condos and houses are plentiful, the weather is probably better than whatever you’re used to, and members of even the most motley of crews will be able to peacefully coexist.
