If you didn’t bring the kids, head to one of the art museums - Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans, or the Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria. If art isn’t your bag, travel to Monroe and check out the Northeast Louisiana African American Heritage Museum.

Nature-lovers will enjoy the Aquarium of the Americas and the world-class Audubon Zoo. Or travel outside of New Orleans and enjoy a rustic vacation rental elsewhere in Louisiana, perhaps in Slidell or the Barataria Basin.
