Casa das Rochas deserves its name because of the Rocks (Rochas), that the builder found and integrated into the Living Space. Behind one of those rocks, today there is an area to lie down and relax and out of a “rocknose” there is water running until a small lake that is located in front of the house. Casa das Rochas is a house that is built on 2 levels separated with 4 steps. In the upper part there is a pullout-futon, with a fireplace and on the lower level there is a double bed equipped with Mosquito net and a small Winter garden, thought as a dining area. The marble bathroom is attached to this and the passage leads into the glass covered and colourful kitchen, which is completely equipped. The outdoor grill and the outdoor shower complete the joy to spend your Holiday in the nature. Continuing up the steps into the upper part of the garden you see a sculpture from which you can view Spain or the view stars with clear sky. Welcome to privacy and living with the nature.

Quinta da Arte Forget about the normal conceptions about holiday houses, because the owners of Quinta da Arte did this a long time ago. From the ideas of the artist and his creative partner, we created 4 individually, artfully designed holiday houses and each one has got a private atmosphere and location. The mild climate and the light as inspiration, the wish to approach nature and the just mentioned elements to us humans, we built with glass and steal or with for example colored acryl plates. Art objects in the house, around it or directly in the garden in shape of sculptures, like from artist from Cologne, which is situated in a old chalk oven, represents a memorial to the 11th of September or a row of Meditation Stones of a artist from Lisbon, just to mention two; makes our guests live with art but also in harmony with the nature.

What is worth visiting in the East-Algarve… Beautiful beaches go on for kilometers and protected through lagoons and nature reserve areas with the most diverse bird and animal life, where even flamingos find a home, it shapes up to the “Ria Formosa”. Small castles and nature can be discovered around Castro Marim or more then 35 churches in the Renaissance City Tavira. Worth a visit in Faro is the old city center a convent and a bone-church form the Franciscans and with a nice shopping area, it is nice to go shopping and to the cafés, between lots more. The most Arabic city close to the sea, Olhao has between its beautiful big markethalls with fresh products, lots of old streets and even older little shops with a special flair. Cacela Velha is a new city in an old city with the Ria Formosa at its doors with golf courses closeby. St. Lucia, in old times one of the main spots for cuttle-fish, now you can eat “these” or travel to the sea by boat. And Fuzeta: bars, restaurants and boats.

Other nice destinations... A destination situated closeby and very quick to get to, is our neighbour Spain. Just over the bordering river Guadiana, there is a small fairy boat from Vila Real de St. Antonio that brings you directly to Spain, even with your car, where the beautiful world of Tappas starts. Here starts the Spanish region Andalusia and the regions around the river are nice to discover and represent an own little world. The world of the Spanish, its legends, the horses and bulls in the heat, the fights between the Portuguese and the Spanish, in past times and the departure into the modern times along the white houses and the villages on hills…until El Roccio, a religious destination where once there was a brave priest, who saved the gipsys into his church, saving them from the fascists and further on Donana; a nature Reserve area with rare birds and lynx, the wide pinetree forests that goes on until Seville, one of the prettiest cities in Europe, where you need only 1h 50m driving from us.

Golf Information: There are now 81 holes on 5 new courses on which you can test yourself. All the courses are easily accessed from the EN 125 coast road or the A 22 motorway. In summer may be it will be too hot but very nice weather and conditions you will find in the spring and autumn time where the temperatures and the sun invites you to be outside in to the nature and playing Golf. The Algarve area it well known by people who felt in love with the climate and the conditions you will find. Not so far away is as well the famous region of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo to reach by 40 min. drive from Quinta da Arte.
