If you need to be in Bologna either for business of leisure (or both), you should definitely consider The Berries as the place to be. It is a clean, cozy, very quiet, typical 1920’s Bolognese family house located in a popular, safe, convenient, colorful neighborhood only about 18-19 minutes from Piazza Maggiore, the very heart of Bologna (12-13 minutes from the Fairground). This rental comfortably sleeps a total of five in two bedrooms (1 queen size bed + 2 twins) and one bedroom in a den (1 twin bed) and features a large, newly remodeled kitchen with dining space and a kitchenette, 2 bathrooms of which one en-suite, a hallway, a balcony, a private fenced yard and free, safe on-street parking. A washing machine and a TV set are provided along with a complete set of kitchen tools and all the necessary household items, internet broadband connection included. All to make your stay as comfortable as at home, or better.

Some reviews and testimonials -- Our family with 3 adults and 2 children (13 and 15) spent 2 weeks in Bologna staying in Strawberry Place. We really enjoyed our stay and found it a very convenient location. As we live in a rural area, dependent on the car, we decided on a city based holiday as a change and it worked very well. The apartment is in a quiet street so there is very little traffic noise but main roads with shops and buses are at either end. The owner was there to meet us and showed us how everything worked. Even though we had only a little Italian and he didn’t have English, we managed to communicate! The place was very clean and the apartment building and courtyard were well kept. The main living area /kitchen is fairly small but the bedrooms are quite spacious and airy. Our 15 year old son liked his bedroom in the basement which was nice and cool even when the weather got warm. It is accessed by a fairly steep stairs with a trapdoor,

so wouldn’t be good for a family with toddlers (or an elderly person!) but great for older children. The courtyard area, partly shaded with trees, was nice for sitting out in the cooler mornings or evenings and was big enough for children to play in. Locally there is a market open every day except Sunday where we bought lovely fresh fruit, fish, cheese etc. The stall holders got to know us and we felt at home very quickly – much nicer than an impersonal supermarket! Very near was a café/bar where we stopped on the way to or from the market for a coffee and a chat with the owner. There was a public swimming pool about 10 min walk away for cooling off when it got too hot. We found Bologna an excellent base for a holiday. It is a beautiful old city with historic buildings around every corner but not full of tourists. The tourist office is very helpful and were able to answer all our queries, even providing a bus route map which was invaluable. (Margery G.)
