Lerici house Rental Property Information

This house is ideal for a family holiday as it is in a small village, with no cars, and close to local shops. The house is on two floors with large spacious rooms. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with a curved brick ceiling, a small terrace for al fresco eating, dining room with music centre and a lounge with TV/DVD/video. Off the lounge is a bathroom with shower. Stairs lead to three large bedrooms, a double, twin and a double with a single bed. There is also a cot available. All the views from the rear of the house and from the patio are of the bay below making it a romantic setting especially at dusk. The house is on a hill in a narrow street very safe for children and about 20 yards from a local shop. Going up the hill leads to open country with many walks and panoramic views of the coastline below. At the bottom of the hill about 500 yards from the house is the main road with a regular bus service to the beach in Lerici which runs till midnight.

Lerici is Italy's best kept secret, you will not find many tourists here as it is the PEARL of the Liguria coast much loved by the Italians. This coastal town has a marina and a number of sandy bays to swim in. The water is crystal clear and ideal for snorkelling or sailing. Cars are very restricted and visitors have to park in a large purpose built carpark the best way to get around is on the free public bus which runs the whole length of the town. This allows for a large safe area to walk and eat al fresco in the evenings. The narrow streets to the rear of the front are bustling with a range of shops and eating places. The houses and buildings are all painted different pastel colours to give a memorable picture. From the harbour you take a ferry to visit other local towns and the famous 'Cinque Terra' towns which can not be reached by car or the islands of Portovenere or Palmaria all of which offer some excellent beaches and picturesque towns.

Notes:

This 2 storey house used to be an Italian family house but as the children grew up and moved into the main towns to live has now become their summer home. It still has antique furniture and offers very comfortable accommodation in large rooms with high ceilings. An early morning walk of 500 yards takes you to the pasticceria for the bread and croissants or the two village shops for all your fresh vegetables and other groceries. If you fly to Pisa then a one hour train journey costing 6 Euro will take you to Sarzana. Trains run each hour. If you are flying to Genoa then the train takes 1.5 hours to Sarzana. From there you take a taxi to the village of La Serra just above the town of Lerici. Public bus service. from La Serra to Lerici and the beach, run a regular service up to midnight
