Further Details for the house in Greece
Land of the Gods The Peloponnes in classical times: the Franchti-cave in Argolis is the oldest place in Greece where prehistoric findings have been found (15,000 B.C.). The Peloponnese was the center of the Mycenaean culture which had an abrupt ending in 1100 B.C. In addition to the Dorians, the Achai also stayed in the North West. During the classical times under the ruling of Sparta and his Peloponnesian republic, Sparta fell during the battle of Leuktra 371 B.C. to the Arcadian republic. After this, the Macedonian empire put together parts of Peloponnese into the Achian republic, which was broken up in 146 B.C. by the Romans. At the end of the late antiquity, large parts of the peninsula were settled by slavish groups (see here the conquering of land by the Slavs in the Balkans). After centuries of belonging to Byzantium, the peninsula, which is now named Morea or Morée, was conquered by the crusaders in 1204.
The antiques The Apollo temple of Vassae is located in a mountain region in which a large white tent suddenly appears. It was used to protect during bad weather until the final restoration of the temple was finished. It is an amazingly preserved construction in honor of the god Apollo, which was first rediscovered in 1765. Epidauros - antique summer theater and the sites of miracle healing. The amphitheater of Epidaurus, with its amazing acoustics, always attracts a lot of visitors each year to the most beautiful pieces of the Greek theater. The miracle healing that was done by priests in Epidauros corresponds to those in Lourdes. Today, we now distinguish therapeutic sleep as maybe a psycho therapeutic procedure. The healing of sick was influenced by the meaning of dreams and suggestion, mild climate, tranquility, warm and cold baths, clean water and different herbal medicines. And a lot more: there is a book present.
House rules House rules 1. Blinds Please close the blinds when leaving the villa and when it is windy 2 Umbrellas The umbrellas are equipped with wind hoods and can take some wind. Please close these when there is strong wind. 3. Seat cushions and supports On the patio by the pool and sun-bathing area you will find boxes. Here you will find seat cushions, supports for the sun chairs and large towels. Please lay the towels on the supports. Suntan oil leaves unsightly stains. The next vacation guests should also feel comfortable here. Stow them in the boxes during the evening or when leaving the villa. Please do not use the towels from the bathrooms by the pool. 4. Marble All rooms are equipped with marble. Please remember that even a few drops of water can make it very slippery. Thus, it is best not to run through the house with wet hair. I am speaking from experience! Slip-free shoes are recommended.
