The Arts et Metiers Metro (subway) Station is nearby. A 24-hour hotline for needed assistance, mobile phone rental, reservation services, and travel services are also available. History of Le Marais: Le Marais was originally reclaimed to provide building space for the Right Bank. Nearby, the famous Place des Vosges was built by Henri IV at the beginning of the 17th century. The area is now the city's center of fashionable living. Architects and sculptors designed elegant mansions and hotel particulars with large courtyards and rear gardens during the 17th century. Now the Marais has been declared a historic neighborhood, and you can now find trendy boutiques, cafes, and museums in the district. The area's narrow streets nevertheless retain the stamp of a medieval village. The apartment is very close to Beaubourg, Notre Dame, and the Place des Vosges. And it's just a few minutes away from most of Paris' center places (by subway).
