The auberge is set in the sleepy, quiet, village of Bouriege which is surrounded by vineyards, in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the heart of Cathar country in the Languedoc. Our three story, four bedroom village house has been lovingly restored and period furnished. Down the small alley at the back of the house is the 'secret garden' A old stone wall enclosed garden full of roses and grapevines as well as a barbeque and hammock. Adjacent to the house is a two bedroom, two storey converted stone barn; its interior balcony overlooks the open studio loft space with a corner kitchen, and the 'secret garden ' Down the road, next to a stream is our second garden where we play croquet and badminton or just lounge in the hammock. These houses while completely independent are just next door to each other and rented together are wonderful for a large house party.

The auberge is on three floors and has a rustic feel to it. The furnishings are local farm antiques. On the ground floor is the kitchen, fully equipped with large five-burner gas range, copper cookware, old stone bread oven, and dishwasher. Through the kitchen is the dining room with plenty of candelabras for candlelit dinners. Up one flight of stairs is the main large bathroom and opposite is a bedroom with one double bed. On this floor is also the living room, full of books, music and lots of light. On the top floor is the yellow skylit attic bedroom with adjoining study/dressing area. ( Often an ideal set up for parents with a young child) At the top of the stairs to the right is another bedroom, the blue room, with a double bed and a large skylight. Next to this is a bathroom. On the left is another smaller bedroom, the red room, with two double beds and a skylight. Adjascent to the house is a walled garden perfect for enjoying the beautiful climate of the south of Frandce.
