| Notes: | Note that the Farmhouse and Converted Barn BOTH offer their own kitchens and living areas with dishwashers, microwaves, coffee-makers, hair dryers, TV sets with multi-region Dvds and CD players. 'Les Volets Bleus' is located in the countryside, an easy 20 minute walk from the picturesque town of Trémolat. It should also be noted that there is a highly-regarded 'ferme auberge' (farm restaurant) on the property immediately next door (a short walk down a country lane). This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner most days. It is very reasonable and serves delightful local cuisine. Our guests always rave about their experiences at 'Les Truffieres'. There are three additional restaurants in Trémolat,m as well as a casual pizzeria. This is therefore an ideal location for either eating out, or enjoying a summer meal at home. A well-informed, local couple will welcome you and be of service during your stay, when needed. |

Philosophy of the owners, Bill & Janice. We are the proud owners of “Les Volets Bleus” and purchased and upgraded/renovated the property in June 2005. Although our home is in California, we have travelled a great deal in Western Europe and have rented many properties – some great, and some less than spectacular! We always appreciated cleanliness, comfort, good beds, furniture you could actually sit on, great linens & towels, appliances that really worked, and nice big wine glasses! After buying our dream home, our philosophy hasn’t changed & we have upgraded the standard of the house to meet or exceed the best we’ve seen. Basically, we have designed it to be the way we’d like it if we arrived tired and hungry from across the world. We appreciate the chance that you take when you book on-line and hope that what you see is really what you’ll be getting! We guarantee you will not be disappointed - in fact, most of our guests feel that the reality of the house far exceeds their expectations.
Personal welcome We have an excellent local manager who speaks both English and French fluently. You will be met personally, and have someone to answer any questions and address all your needs while your stay at our home. Our manager is well-versed in the house and the local area, and is very popular with our guests. We also provide you with very detailed maps and directions for your arrival, as well as information on the area so that you know exactly where to find everything you might need: such as days and towns for the best local markets, and inside tips and suggestions from previous guests. We want you to have the best possible experience in this wonderful area of the Dordogne that offers so much in the way of scenery, markets, activities, food adventures, and wonderfully warm people.
Guest Book 'Our stay at Les Volets Bleus was incredible... we knew from the photos that the house was charming and romantic, but it was even more so in person. The farmhouse is the epitome of 300-year-old Dordogne charm, but renovated with your very special eye and genuine, all-out care. The house functions beautifully, from kitchen to pool to the terraces, and is spacious and easy to live in (great beds, too!). We loved the great big farm table in the kitchen! ..Thanks for the experience of such a wonderful place, it will remain as one of the very special memories of our lives.' LM/New York (July 06).
