Situated in an officially designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the surrounding area offers miles of wonderful walks not only around sandy bays and coves but also in the wild Massif des Maures, which rises behind the village. For fitter visitors there are excellent cycle rides through the Massif and designated cycle paths along the coastline. The world famous arboretum of the Domaine de Dattier extends east of the village along the coast and contains an amazing collection of trees from all over the world. Just a couple of kilometres further east towards St. Tropez lies the picturesque and lively seaside town of Cavalaire with its traditional Cote d'Azur beaches, restaurants and shops. 10 kilometres to the west, there are regular ferry trips from the port of Le Lavandou to the Iles d'Hyeres taking the visitor to the stunning island of Port Cros.
