Le Lavandou villa Rental Property Information

Our villa is situated on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean. There are two large terraces. The view from the infinity swimming pool is superb. The whole villa was renovated three years ago. Every aspect of the house faces the sea, except one bedroom which has its own terrace facing the sea. The lounge, dining room and kitchen are all bright and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, hob, double oven, huge fridge freezer for food (an identical one in the utility room for drinks!) and double sink. We, the owners, have tried to make it home from home so the transition from work to holiday mode begins immediately! The lounge has sofas, satellite TV and a stereo, the dining room a Provencal table and chairs. Outside the kitchen is the patio for alfresco dining with views over the pool and sea. We also have a gas barbeque to make cooking even easier! As the villa has steps and sloping gardens it is not suitable for young children. We also have a boules pitch.

The village is situated halfway between Nice and Marseilles in a village called Le Rayol-Canadel. It is about l5 miles from St Tropez. The village is about one mile away and has everything from boulangerie to supermarket with a superb cafe/restaurant in the heart of the village. Markets abound in the area with one every day within driving distance. From Le Lavandou you can take a ferry to the islands or visit the local Jardin Boutanique which is in the village of Rayol.

Notes:

There are three terrace areas all overlooking the sea so when there are twelve people in occupation it does not appear crowded. In the evening the best place to sip rose is the terrace outside the lounge/dining room which has absolutely superb views. During the day the infinity pool affords amazing views over the bay. There is ample garden furniture, sun lounger’s, parasols, tables and chairs and of course the BBQ. Bedroom l: Double bed, balcony, ensuite bathroom; Bedroom 2: Double bed and balcony; Bedroom 3: Double bed and balcony; Bedroom 4: Double bed, bunk beds, superb sea view; Bedroom 5: Bunk beds, ensuite shower room, terrace. Further separate toilet and separate shower room. Additional bathroom downstairs. All bedrooms have fans and fitted wardrobes. There is a separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and an additional fridge/freezer (which we use almost solely for drinks!) There is a table tennis table and a boules pitch has just been completed.

The Village of Rayol The village of Rayol is a mile from our villa, which is up a hill commanding spectacular views. Rayol has everything from a small supermarket, boulangerie, boucherie, delecatessen hairdressers, bank, post office, chemist, doctor's surgery, tabac and presse and of great importantance, one of the mostwonderful cafe/restaurant's in the area, the Maurin des Maures. There is also an office de tourisme where you will find a wealth of information, from walks in hills above the villa to the many events which take place during the summer. There is also cycling, horse riding, tennis and golf The villa is available throughout the year. Out of season prices available on request.. Costs include all household and bed linen, cleaning after departure, pool and garden maintenance. IMPORTANT It is essential that you provide full insurance for your party for the entire rental period.

Markets and Beaches Markets about in this area, the most wonderful being St Tropez held on Tuesday and Saturday. The other markets operate during the rest of the week,so if you are a bargain bunter or just love to buy the wonderful food, you can go to a different one every day! The closest beach to our villa is Rayol about one mile away. There are several beaches close by, Canadel, Cavaliere, St. Clair and Le Lavandou. En route to St Tropez there is a town called Cavalaire (not to be confused with Cavaliere!) which has a lovely beach and promenade.

Concerts and Places to Visit There are concerts held in the church in Rayol at least once a week. They are also held in Gassin and Ramatouelle (en route to St Tropez) Details of all the events can be obtained at the office de tourisme in centre of the village. There are many vineyards in the area, where winetasting is obligatory and a great place for gifts! The Isles d'Hyeres which face the villa are beautiful islands to visit and can be reached by boat from either Cavalaire or Le Lavandou. They are tranquil islands, no cars allowed, but you can hire bicycles on Porquerolles which is the largest island.
