  • The Lodge can comfortably sleep up to 24 adults. For mixed family groups we can accommodate up to 34 guests, with children sleeping on z-beds/in cots in parent's bedrooms. If you wish to hire z-beds, cots or sofa beds, please note that there is a charge of £20 per item. Beds will be made up for your arrival. For guests who are staying for longer than 1 week, bedlinen will be changed weekly. If you require more frequent changes during your stay, please ask me for a quote.

The Lodge has spacious corridors and 3 ground-floor bedrooms and can therefore accommodate guests in wheelchairs. However, the driveway is gravelled and there are steps from the house to the gardens for which some assistance would be required. This elegant and spacious 12-bedroom Edwardian mansion stands in glorious grounds of around 8 acres. Surrounded by the beautiful rolling Herefordshire countryside, it sits just 5 miles outside the cathedral city of Hereford and only 2 miles from the village of Canon Pyon with its general store and public house. With accommodation over 3 floors, the house offers 12 en-suite bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, a large dining room with table to seat at least 24 guests, and a fabulous newly-installed luxury kitchen with Aga. This combined with the outdoor keyhole-shaped swimming pool, tennis court, gym, sauna, bar and games barn combine to make The Lodge the ultimate venue for a short - or long - break with family and friends. Alternatively, the state-of-the-art electronic presentation screen in the dining room, wi-fi internet connection and huge oak table seating 24 make it the perfect venue for a corporate/team-building exercise or even a board meeting.

The fabulous newly-installed bespoke kitchen has a good range of oak units with granite worktops and a travertine marble floor. It is fully equipped to cope with large parties, with facilities including a 4-door Aga, 90cm range cooker, 3 Miele fridges, 1 Miele freezer with ice-maker, 2 Neff dishwashers, 2 sinks, a microwave, toaster, plentiful supplies of wine and champagne glasses, tumblers, plates, bowls, cutlery, pots, pans, serving dishes, tea cups, saucers and pots and pans. To help to inspire you to greatness in the kitchen we have provided a good selection of cookery books. However, if they don't do the trick you could always enlist the services of one of our recommended caterers, or make a reservation at the award-winning Wellington Inn, just 2 miles away. Alternatively, you could call and book a table at the Nags Head in Canon Pyon. If you ask nicely the landlord will even come and pick you up then bring you back home at the end of the night.

The 12 en-suite bathrooms are all newly-installed with stylish baths, power showers and natural - granite, marble, limestone and glass - wall and floor tiles, a selection of Damana toiletries, thick towels, chrome fittings and a heated towel rail. Most rooms have a bath and a shower option, and one ground floor room boasts a Jacuzzi bath, meaning that there is something to suit everyone. The house has been completely re-plumbed, using almost a mile of copper piping, to ensure that this is one house that won't be suffering from the eternal large house complaint of a lack of hot water. The 3 mega-flow systems that we have installed in the basement mean that we are mega-confident that no-one ever needs go to breakfast without first having had a long, hot shower. The 12 bedrooms are elegantly and individually decorated, and furnished with a king or a double bed, and quality bed linens and throws. Sofa beds and z-beds aer supplied for use by children in parent's rooms.
