Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

  • Rental of 3 nights or more; NO cleaning fee is charged.

    Rentals of 1-2 nights, please add cleaning fee of $100 per rental.

    Rates are based on 1 to 4-person occupancy. Additional charge of $10 per extra person per night may be applicable during certain periods.

    P Sleeps 4-6 persons comfortably. A 7th person may be accommodated on a spare twin mattress that we provide for that purpose, if necessary. There is also a portable playpen/crib for your little one.

    Children are most welcome! Sorry, due to allergy concerns, smoking and pets are NOT allowed at Birch Haven.
  • RESERVATION POLICY: THE RATES QUOTED ABOVE ARE VALID FOR RENTALS PAID BY CHECK ONLY. We also accept Visa and Mastercard but if you choose this method of payment, a surcharge will be added to cover our credit card processing costs.

    To reserve the property, a 50% down payment by check or credit card is required. Remaining 50% balance is due 90 days prior to arrival. Even if you are paying by check, you can use your credit card to serve as damage deposit. Otherwise, a damage deposit check of $350 (separate check please) is required.
  • CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY:
    Cancellation with more than 120 days notice: $250 processing fee

    90-120 days prior to arrival: 50% penalty (i.e. down-payment amount)

    Within 90 days of arrival: 100% penalty, unless property is successfully re-rented.

    We will do our best to accommodate date changes ($100 processing fee still applies). But because our property is booked months ahead of time, it may not be possible to find alternate dates, in which case the cancellation policy above will apply.

    While more stringent than hotel policies, you will find that the above policies are fairly standard for privately-owned vacation rentals. This is because last minute cancellations usually result in lost revenue as our guests tend to book months in advance.

  • MASTER BATH: The unique master bath is loft-style, and features an open design, with a large 2-person soaking tub. It's the perfect place to relax after an active day outdoors. SECOND BATH: This slate-accented bath features a full rectangular bath-tub with stand-up shower. Designer linen is provided in both baths. ROOFTOP HOT-TUB: Our guests have use of the building's large rooftop hot-tub with 360 degree panoramic views of the towering peaks. It's the perfect end to a perfect day out in the mountains! GOURMET KITCHEN: The modern slate-accented kitchen has everything you will need. We did not stop at just the dishwasher, microwave oven, stovetop/oven and top-of the-line cookware and dinnerware. There's spices in the larder, condiments in the fridge and cookbooks in the kitchen. Even filtered drinking water, making lugging bottled water a vacation ritual of the past. All of which serve to confirm that we've made a very personal effort to anticipate and cater to your needs...

  • MASTER BR: The centerpiece of the loft is a romantic queen canopy log bed custom-crafted from lodgepole pine. Skip-peeled to contrast the grain with the bark, the logs were paired with outcroppings of diamond willow twigs to simulate nature's wild abandon. SECOND BR: The lower bedroom furnishings, including the queen bed, were built from slate and antique barnwood salvaged from local historic homes, to create old world charm. There is also a spare twin mattress should you need extra room. LIVING ROOM: The queen sleeper sofa can be made more even comfortable with a feather bed topper. There is also a portable playpen/crib for your little one... There are visual delights at every turn on the lower level -- the trapezoidal birch-willow dining table, the soaring 20-foot console table made from a polished birch slab and ancient root stumps, the late 1800s crackle barnwood armoire, the antique barnwood window bench, and much more...

BIRCH HAVEN IS A VACATION RENTAL LIKE NO OTHER... You will not find lacklustre 'rental-quality' furniture here. That is because Birch Haven was not furnished to be a vacation rental per se. It was meticulously decorated by the artist-owner to be a haven for rejuvenation. Every piece of antique barnwood and log furnishing is exquisite and custom crafted by artisans, making us a favorite for honeymooners and families wanting lodging that's a cut above the rest. Throughout the loft, you'll find touches that differentiate this place from any other vacation rental. Mood lighting at the flick of a switch. An antique barnwood armoire brimming with games and travel guidebooks. A surround-sound home entertainment system with CDs and DVDs. Condiments in the fridge, filtered drinking water and cookbooks in the gourmet kitchen. Even a 'library' of pillows, including featherbeds, fluffy down-alternatives, firm foam orthopedic ones, or flat pillows that are ideal for kids!
