This is a holiday location perfect for those wishing to 'get away from it all'. Once visited, never forgotten. The peace and quiet of a desert island, yet 'civilisation', with all its amenities, just around the corner. Eleuthera itself is one of the outlying 'family islands' of the Bahamas, that are characterised by unspoilt, uncrowded beaches with pink and white sand and turquoise waters, and a leisurely pace of life guaranteed to be an antidote to the stresses of modern living. The nearby small Harbour Island, popular with film and rock stars, is famed for its pretty colonial-style buildings, and as a centre for breathtaking diving and snorkelling.

Local attractions on Eleuthera such as the spectacular Glass Window Bridge and Hatchet Bay Caves are well worth a visit. The Bahamas is one of the prime locations for the sport of bone-fishing, and local fishing trips can be arranged to take advantage of this. A golf course is also in the vicinity, bicycles can be hired, and two kayaks are available for tenants' use.

The nearby Club At Windermere (5 minutes walk) has a bar and restaurant open November to May and a swimming pool and tennis courts available all year round. The nearest supermarkets are 20/30 minutes by car. A cook and/or babysitter are available if required, the daily maid service is included in the rental. Grocery shopping ready for your arrival can be done by arrangement with the caretaker. Several local-style restaurants are within 30 minutes drive. Flights from Fort Lauderdale or Nassau fly daily into Governor's Harbour or Rock Sound airports, 40 minutes drive away. Car rental is readily available.
