Compass Cay cottage Rental Property Information

Compass Cay is a spectacular 450-acre, tropical, private, island paradise -- one of the 400 Exuma islands. The Lodge is one of only two houses on the island (the owner lives in the other). The island is two miles long with 13 beaches, and is full of hiking trails to explore. There is a world-class 3/4-mile-long beach with a thatch gazebo for shade, just three minutes from the house. This is an unspoiled paradise. The home is spacious, comfortable, and fully-tiled. Amenities include a satellite TV and air-conditioned bedrooms. There are 360-degree views of the sea. Fishing is tremendous, by line or spear. There is a creek full of bonefish for the enthusiast at Compass itself. Lobster, conch, and all sorts of tropical fish. Take the runabout boat that comes with your rental, and explore surrounding islands and beaches. Or visit the famous Land and Sea Park -- just a mile to the north.

You go by boat to visit the quaint village of Staniel Cay (with 100 inhabitants), just 20 minutes away to the south -- with its airport, restaurants, shops, medical clinic, and church. This part of Exuma is truly beautiful. The colors of the water are exquisite. You can choose to have complete privacy on Compass Cay-- finding your own deserted beach -- or you can be sociable with the owners and their guests at the small marina for visiting yachtsmen and women on the west of the island. We have a wonderful aquarium for snorkeling right at the dock. Or you can visit the fabulous reefs all around. The choice is yours. The weather is great year-round. You can now fly direct to Staniel Cay from Fort Lauderdale; or you can fly to Nassau, and then fly on to Staniel Cay. We'll pick you up at Staniel by boat and bring you to Compass, 20 minutes away. Compass is perfect for a family vacation or a romantic retreat.

Compass Cay is a natural paradise that is completely self contained with generators for electricity, propane for cooking, R.O. water, laundry and shower facilities. There are several cottages and a marina on this two mile long unspoiled haven of beaches, palms, cliffs and lagoons. There are numerous trails to hike, a creek to explore and the ocean beach to enjoy. This beach, a spectacular half-mile long crescent of fine white sand, has often been described as the best beach in the Bahamas. Crystal clear waters of indescribably beautiful hues of azure blues and aquamarines surround the island. Beneath the water's surface, you will find a spectacular underwater world of exotic tropical fish in and around coral reefs within easy skin diving range.
